Influencer marketing is when brands partner with social media “influencers” – people with a large following on social media platforms – to promote their products and services. These influencers may be celebrities or popular figures within their own niche (such as YouTubers or Instagram models).

Influencer marketing is projected to be a $5-10 billion market by 2020.

Since Instagram’s algorithm is also taking the same route, we will see more organic content from people and less from brands in 2018. With the right strategy, Influencer partnerships will garner more attention with their organic content, while similar, non-paid content from businesses and brands will suffer.
